"Espace Les Neuf Soeurs" 1900 Wellington Street, Pointe St. Charles, Montreal

A five-stage walk through the historic streets of pointe st-charles, one of Montreal oldest and most storied neighbourhoods. Architect Peter Sijpkes takes us on a stroll up and down Wellington Street, pointing out the more interesting architectural aspects of the buildings we pass, as well as giving a history of the neighbourhood and the changes that have taken place.
At 90 years of age, Monsieur Cote has lived in pointe st-charles since 1952, and he remains a fixture of the community. We run into him outside a depanneur on Wellington street, where he proceeds to tell us about how he arrived in Montreal, and how he happened upon a career watching over thousands of tomato plants on the nearby farm of Maison St. Gabriel, which is now a National Historic Site of Canada.
